The conference, to be held in Allentown from Wednesday, October 18, to Saturday, October 21, is open to all audiences. Sorrentino will present “Volunteer Considerations Regarding Street Medicine.” The presentation will include whether an employee of a private non-profit can perform volunteer services for the employer, whether students or other non-employees can perform volunteer services for a non-profit, whether volunteers are covered by workers’ compensation insurance, and what the rules and regulations are pertaining to dispensing medication on the street. He serves as Lehigh County Solicitor, managing a staff of 18 full- and part-time staff attorneys for the county.
